Hello! I’m Andrea Kennedy

GingerSnapMusik is the umbrella under which all of my professional (and occasional volunteer) music adventures happen.

My Mom was my first piano teacher. She started giving me piano lessons when I was about 4 years old and I have never stopped. I’ve picked up a couple of other instruments along the way (singing is the best second with pipe organ a bit of a third place finish. I also played French horn in school and can kind of get around a bass.)

I’ve performed solo and as a part of groups in a whole lot of places over the years and it has been a marvelous ride!

I have played and sung with choirs across Europe. I was part of a gospel trio, Joshua’s Vision, that performed mostly in Indiana but we also ventured into Michigan and Tennessee. I have performed as a collaborative pianist with college students at several central Indiana Universities. I have also performed as a pit pianist and rehearsal accompanist for both high school and community theatre music productions. I have been a church musician as pianist, organist and worship leader (keys and vocals) over the years. Most recently I ventured into singing and playing in nursing and retirement facilities and have had a blast sharing music from their heyday and watching them wander down memory lane.

CoVID made performing difficult for nearly all musicians everywhere. I too pivoted and started recording “performances” for my retirement facilities and my church family. Now that we can perform live again (thank goodness!) I am down to sharing a weekly Music Monday (see the media page for a few of those) and an occasional Sidetracked recording. I save Sidetracked for when I get an earworm that won’t let go. So I go find music and then I can play/sing it and it becomes part of my library.

I’d love to come share music with you and your people. I can be a feature, or I’m happy as dinner music, people watching and talking with passers-by.
